1 dead, 2 hurt in alleged drunk driving crash | News

Perla Gonzalez, 28, of Bakersfield, died Wednesday night after the car she was in was hit by an alleged drunk driver.

Cherie Marie Lopez, 19, and Jayden Gonzalez, 1, were also injured in the crash, which happend about 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Mt. Vernon Avenue and Kentucky Street. The boy reportedly suffered burns to his face, legs and arms.

Several Good Samaritans who witnessed the crash risked their lives to help the victims out of their burning car.

The driver of the other vehicle, 23-year-old Marcus Trevino, of Fallbrook, was not injured.

Trevino was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and murder.
